By default, Thunderbird sorts emails in folders with the newest emails at the bottom of the folder. Some users prefer their folders to be sorted so the newest emails are at the top of the folder (thus reversing the sort order of emails).

  1. To do this, press Alt on your keyboard to reveal the context menu, then go to Tools > Options > click the cog for the Advanced tab > General tab > Config Editor button.
  2. Search for mailnews.default
  3. It will display similar to the following:
    Preference Name Status Type Value
    mailnews.default_news_sort_order: default integer x
    mailnews.default_news_sort_type: default integer y
    mailnews.default_sort_order: default integer x
    mailnews.default_sort_type: default integer y
  4. Change to...

After the 1803 update, some PCs seem to create a D drive. The data in that drive is used during the upgrade process and is suppose to be removed once the update is completed. Although now it's completed the data is actually no longer required.

I have found that simply right clicking the drive, and selecting "Format..." is sufficient to stop the low disk space warnings.

If you really want to nuke it; you'll need to first format it, then use diskpart to unassign the partition and set its attribute to hide.

  • Open an elevated command prompt, type the diskpart commands and press Enter.
    • Press the windows key and type cmd. Right click Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator.
  • Type the command list volume
  • Note the nu...

You may want to save a record of the IP addresses on all of your interfaces to a txt file, or your IT team may ask you for your IP address. Follow these instructions to save all this information to a txt file that you can then save somewhere or email to someone.

These instructions are for Windows10.

  1. Rightclick your Start button    , and select Windows PowerShell (Admin)

  2. You'll be prompted for "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?", select Yes

  3. Type the following command: ipconfig /all > c:\ipconfig.txt
Note: You can also copy the command, then right click inside PowerShell to paste.

  4. This will save a file in your C drive called ipconfig....

For some reason, you may need to change the letter that Windows 10 has assigned to your CD / DVD / Disk drive.

The process is most likely very similar for Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1, however I have not checked this.

To change the drive letter:

Step one:

Go to Computer Management.

In the start menu, search for Computer Management and click on the desktop app.

Step two:

Click on Disk Management on the left.

Step three:

Find your Disk reader, it may be called "DVD-ROM" or "CD-ROM". Right click it and select "Change Drive Letter and Paths..."

Step four:

Click on "Change".

Step five:

Under "Assign the following drive letter" select the letter your wish to use, and then select "O...
